Working from Home as a Catalyst for Urban Regeneration

چکیده

Since the COVID-19 pandemic, working from home has become normalised and is likely to continue gather pace. The adjustment in daytime population that this creates implications for urban planning, as it can drive greater levels of localization less car-dependent cities. In paper, we describe how shift changes density, a significant predictor most measures amenity, walkability, liveability. First, define method mapping access applied two cities: Melbourne Sydney. Secondly, analyse two-way causal relationship between density amenity based on bivariate spatial mapping. Thirdly, provide estimating populations. Finally, article provides taxonomy telework regeneration potential different parts city level expected (average high job-density areas ?14%, CBDs ?30%, +54% residential areas). We argue that, if used catalyst within strategic regeneration, increases could create higher suburban areas, which lead improved sustainability outcomes, specifically liveability, reduced car dependence. have calculated opportunity account 89% area cover 49% population, may well grow WFH trend continues. As such, conclusion, outline set site-specific opportunities challenges relevant planners aim regeneration.

Heterogeneous Catalyst Deactivation and Regeneration: A Review

Deactivation of heterogeneous catalysts is a ubiquitous problem that causes loss of catalytic rate with time. This review on deactivation and regeneration of heterogeneous catalysts classifies deactivation by type (chemical, thermal, and mechanical) and by mechanism (poisoning, fouling, thermal degradation, vapor formation, vapor-solid and solid-solid reactions, and attrition/crushing). The key...

WIDER Working Paper No. 2013/004 Aid as a catalyst for pioneer investment

I discuss how aid can support growth in small, isolated economies. Small markets frustrate scale economies and competition. Combined with high transport costs, essential inputs become prohibitively expensive. Breaking the coordination problem requires pioneering investment. Since this generates externalities it will be undersupplied. Donors have both the finance and the long-term relationships ...

Biodiesel production from soybean oil using ionic liquid as a catalyst in a microreactor

In the present study, Choline hydroxide (ChOH) as an ionic liquid catalyst was used for transesterification of soybean oil into biodiesel in a microchannel reactor. The effects of three variables i.e. reaction temperature, catalyst dosage and total flow rate on fatty acid methyl ester (FAME) content (wt. %) were optimized using Box–Behnken experimental design. In order to predict the FAME conte...

Application of Acidic Ionic Liquid as a Solvent/Catalyst for Preparation of α-Oximinoketones from β-Dicarbonyl Compounds

The selective nitrosation of β-dicarbonyl compounds with sodium nitrite was carried out under1-methyl-3-carboxymethylimidazolium chloride, prepared from N-methylimidazole andchloroacetic acid, as an acidic ionic liquid. The reaction was found to proceed under relativelymild conditions with excellent conversion and selectivity. The ionic liquid was recycled andreused.
